There is a new common expression that has become part of daily conversation when someone responds to a request for help and expresses gratitude. That expression is “NO PROBLEM”. You might say, “Can you help me move this package?” “No problem.” “Thanks for being a big help. “ “No problem.” “No problem, no problem, no problem.” There is a word that stands out and continues to resonate after it is said. The word is “Problem.” What one might have intended to say turns out to be the opposite. If one says it’s not a problem, to me it seems that what have been communicated is that it is a … problem.
How might one respond when someone asks you a favor and or requests thanks of you? Instead of saying the expression “no problem” which leaves one feeling like it is a problem, one could say either
“My Pleasure” or “Happy to Do It”. It is hard to say either expression without a smile coming to your face.
At Scarsdale Dental Spa, you will only hear it is “My Pleasure” or “Happy To Do It” when interacting with staff or our wonderful patients.
